President NAB

The federal government has decided to extend the president of the NAB, Javed Iqbal. The ordinance will soon be extended to the NAB president.

According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided not to consult opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif in this regard. Prime Minister Imran Khan asked his close associates for suggestions, who suggested a temporary extension of the outgoing president.

Under NAB law, the appointment of the NAB president is mandatory in consultation with the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition. But due to the distance between Prime Minister Imran Khan and opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif, it was decided not to hold consultations.

The prime minister was informed that the NAB chair is expected to extend until the snow melts on both sides on the issue. The government decided to use a presidential ordinance to do this. The ordinance will soon be extended to the NAB president.
