Israeli missiles fired off Damascus, Syrian officials say

Syrian officials say Israel fired rockets on the outskirts of Damascus, wounding two soldiers. According to the Associated Press, Syrian state media quoted unidentified military officials as saying that the Syrian Air Force was full of missiles fired from Israel.

The state news agency quoted military officials as saying the air defense successfully shot down several missiles from northern Israel, but caused damage.

According to the report, these attacks on Syria by Israel often take place at night, but military officials said the attack took place in the afternoon.

Britain's Human Rights Watch and the Syrian opposition War Crimes Investigation Agency said Israeli missiles landed northwest of Damascus.

He said the Lebanese group Hezbollah had weapons depots in the region, as well as Syrian military installations and Iranian-backed militias.

Before the latest Israeli attack, Syria had claimed that Israel was carrying out attacks in the south of the country, but did not reveal the details.

It should be noted that Israel has already carried out similar attacks in various parts of Syria, but Israel accepts little responsibility.

Israel claims to target the strongholds of Iranian-backed militias, including the Lebanese stronghold of Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah is supporting President Bashar al-Assad's forces in a civil war in Syria.

In November 2019, Israeli warplanes bombed Syria, killing 23 people.

The IDF confirmed the attack and said they carried out dozens of airstrikes against Iranian forces and the Syrian army in response to four rocket attacks on Israel the previous day.
