Barbados, which is part of the Caribbean, was liberated from British rule 400 years later.
Barbados seceded from the Commonwealth and declared itself an independent country last night, according to the news agency.
With this announcement, Barbados officially became the new republic of the world.
The British royal flag, representing the queen, was unfurled at a ceremony in Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados, in the presence of British Prince Charles.
Dame Sandra Mason, the last Governor General of Great Britain, was sworn in as the country's first female president.
Famous American pop singer Rehana also attended the event and was declared a national heroine.
It should be noted that Barbados gained independence from Great Britain on November 30, 1966 and November 30, 2021 was chosen as the day of independence from British rule.
Last month, Barbados passed a resolution replacing the Queen with Dame Sandra Mason as president.
