Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that after the law is amended, all upcoming by-elections for the Election Commission must be held on an electronic voting machine and if the elections are not held on a voting machine electronic, the government will not be able to finance the Electoral Commission.

The Information Minister said that in any democratic country where elections are the basis for the formation of a government, it is very important that the electoral system is transparent and that everyone has confidence in it. Therefore, it is very important that the Electoral Commission is strong and efficient. We believe that the Election Commission should bring the issue of vote theft in Lahore to a logical conclusion in conjunction with the Senate elections.
