The international community must work with the Security Council to reduce terrorist threats from the Taliban: Antonio Guterres

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said daily life in Afghanistan has turned into a frozen hell.

Addressing the Security Council, Antonio Guterres called for the suspension of aid operations in Afghanistan and for international aid to pay the salaries of public sector workers.

"We must suspend the principles and conditions that not only limit Afghanistan's economy, but also our vital operations," he said.

According to a foreign news agency, the UN secretary general added that the Taliban should work with the international community, the Security Council, to reduce the terrorist threat.
