After weeks of news leaks and teasers, Windows 11 has been announced. In Windows 11, Microsoft has made a lot of big changes everywhere. In terms of design, Microsoft has moved the Start button from the bottom left to the bottom center.
With this change alone, Windows 11 looks like Mac OS and Chrome OS. Microsoft also changed the style of the Start menu.
The tile layout of Windows 8 has been discontinued in Windows 11. Users will now see a search bar at the top of the Start menu, and below it, icons for users' pinned apps, along with links to featured files.
This will also be the case on all user devices such as phones and other computers.
The Windows 11 Start menu is similar to the app launcher used on mobile devices.
The Snap Layouts feature offered in Windows 11 allows users to further customize the Windows interface and select custom layouts from existing layouts.
Microsoft has also made some changes to the Windows Store, which will be available in Windows 10 and Windows 11.
Users can now also install apps from the browser. For this, the browser will provide a quick version to users that works as a mini version store to install applications.
Microsoft wants to increase opportunities for developers to make money from its stores. Microsoft says it allows developers to add their own merchant to the store and keep 100% of their revenue.
Microsoft won't keep any of this revenue. Plus, developers can use Microsoft Commerce if they want, with 85% of revenue coming from developers and 15% from Microsoft.
A revolutionary change in Microsoft Windows 11 is the inclusion of support for Android apps. You will now be able to install Android apps on your computer from the Microsoft Store.
This means that users do not need to use any other heavy third-party software to run Android apps on the computer. Support for Android apps on Windows is the result of a partnership with Intel.
The main purpose of Intel Bridge Technology is to allow Android applications to run on x86 devices. According to a statement, despite the partnership with Intel, this feature will work on AMD and ARM devices.
It may soon work on other devices as well.
Windows 11 is faster than previous versions. Windows updates will now be 40% smaller and install faster. Microsoft claims that Windows 11 will also improve laptop battery timing.
